  1. I have not heard from the hearld but Carol from KISM said she will pass the word along, especially reach out to those by the shorelines and with private property to please keep an eye out and if willing, allow searchers to enter their properties.

  2. I just want to thank all of you for taking the time to embark on this painful search for our friends. I am still hopeful that one of you will bring them home safely.

  3. Are there any fund raisers or anything in the works or anything set up to benefit the families? I see that Styff Anyss is playing the Nightlight next Saturday. Maybe the Nightlight or Flann could be approached to combine the show with a donation situation? A lot of Gunther and Donnkie's friends will be at that show... Or maybe even setting up a Paypal account or something. If a lot of people donate a small amount it adds up.

  5. I'm not local to Bellingam anymore. Does anybody up there know the owner of the Nighlight who would feel comfortable trying to set this up? I would be more than happy to donate. As for a Paypal account I think a family member or very close friend should set that up/manage it. I do think people would contribute though!

  6. i'd also be willing to donate to the families, to the search effort, etc--- donnkie & gunther have friends all over the place that are a bit helpless right now. besides checking this blog 5 times a day there's nothing to do from afar...

let me know if you need help setting up a paypal account, it's easy.

  9. MaryB - talked to Flann and he said he'd definitely try to do a little fund raising at the show on Saturday. Then (if necessary) maybe we can get a bigger event going later - I'm sure tons of their friends' bands would want to do a benefit show for the families.

Could someone give me contact info for the parents? I know it's been posted around but I can't remember where.

  10. Meagan, that is awesome!

Melissa, I really think that a family member should be the one to open a Paypal account if they wish (or another type account) so that they can manage it directly. Just my 2 cents...

From experience, NOW is the time to do fundraising. People want to help and are willing to help.

  12. What I'm saying is that it would be nice to start doing some fundraising while the media is covering the story. There are so many wonderful people in Bellingham, in the boating, snowboarding, photography, music, arts, etc... communities and the media can reach them right now and let them know about an account or a fundraiser. I have done a fundraiser before afer a car accident and found that people were more likely to donate to the account that was online (Paypal) than the one where they had to go into a bank branch. I'm sorry to seem like such a buttinski but I just know how expensive things get and I know that a lot of people want to help...

  13. no... its an awsome gesture, I have been in touch with someone in the family and both families need to get together and talk about it, so everyone is clear about it in the end... you know how money is it can tear people apart and that is the last thing they need. so it is in the works and hopefully we'll have something together soon.
